General Racing Rules

The Ferrari GTC Trofeo is a non-contact motorsport. It is understandable that on occasion some contact may occur that is not expected by either party, for example due to lag. Competitors with 'lag' issues will not be penalized, but may be asked to improve their connection, if the issue is persistently hindering other's experiences please see connection section.

Competitors who are being followed on a straight part of a track by another car may move their position on the track once to defend, any further sufficient movement outside of cornering will be deemed as weaving and you may be penalised.

If a competitor leaves the track at any time, it is advised that extra caution is taken not to impede other drivers when rejoining, please check and look before rejoining the track. Common courtesy stipulates that a driver in a dangerous position on the circuit should alert oncoming drivers of their position to avoid additional incidents, (essentially the yellow flag rules.)

The track limits are determined by the solid white lines either side of the track. At all times, two wheels must remain on this part of the circuit, unless of an occurrence where it is near to impossible to keep two wheels on the track, like avoiding a collision. During a race meeting, each time the track limits are not adhered to, a warning will be given. Each driver are allowed five warnings of all four wheels leaving the track via the inside of a corner, at any part of the circuit. If a sixth and subsequent "corner cutting" occurrences happen within a race meeting, then that driver will lose a position for each corner cut. Again, if a corner is cut to avoid a collision, this would not be given a warning.

The track limits must be adhered to in the event of gaining an advantage whilst having an on-track battle. If a driver overtakes a driver by getting all four wheels off the track, the driver must give that position back before they may continue the race. If the driver which was overtaken backs off heavily either through incident or because of another issue, then the position will not need to be given back.

Championships

The Ferrari GTC Trofeo will offer three different championships, as listed below:

Drivers Championship: This will be a championship fought by each driver for themselves. The total amount of points at the end of the series will be their final points total and will result in their position in the overall drivers standing at the end of the year.

Teams Championship: A team will be made up of a maximum of 3 drivers, all driving the same car in the same class. This championship will be scored by the total points scored by the top two team drivers at each round over the course of the championship.

Privateers Championship: Similar to the Drivers Championship, but solely for drivers who are not entered as part of a team. As well as competing in the Drivers Championship, Privateers have their own standings to battle other Privateers.

Race Event

Qualifying

Qualifying will be a 15 minute sesison, held prior to the race in order to determine grid positions. Competitors will be split into lobbies (depending on number of entries), and will try to set the fastest lap time they possibly can. Qualifying will run until the race timer reaches 15 minutes, at which point all drivers will finish the current lapnthat they are on. Once done so, they will continue around the lap slowly, and return into the pitlane. Once in the pitlane, all drivers must pause their game so they do not leave the pits afterwards. The host of the session will collect qualifying times meanwhile, and the session will then conclude.

Race

After qualifying, lobby hosts will fill in the qualifying times, and lobbies will be agreed (again, depending on numbers). The appropriate number of lobbies will then be set up, and then drivers will be invited into their corresponding race lobby.

Each race will last roughly 50-60 minutes, with a pre-determined number of laps. Each race will begin with a formation lap, which drivers will use to get into grid order, and will then drive around the lap in grid order. Races will begin with a rolling start, so lead drivers will be asked to slow down as they approach the end of the formation lap, in order to allow everyone to form up in a 2 x 2 formation. Cars will then drive at 60mph, and when the last rowmof the grid exit the final corner of the track, the lead driver may shout "Go, Go, Go" when they wish, to start the race.

There are no mandatory pitstops in this series. This is to promote strategy for all races, to make things more exciting. Due to tyre wear, cars are likely to have to stop at least once for most events, so drivers have a choice?of whether to save tyres and drive smoothly, or drive very flat out but risk having to pit once or even twice!

When a faster GTC 1 car is lapping a slower GTC 2 car, the GTC 1 car must make the GTC 2 car aware, and it is the responsibility of the GTC 1 drivernto find a way past the GTC 2 car. This means the GTC 2 should remain on the racing line. If two cars of the same class are to lap each other, the car about to be lapped must slow down and let the faster car pass.
